Frozen in Time
This morning as I was walking my dog I saw this small bush frozen with ice and the title of this post came to me. It brought to my attention how we have so much in our past. It is frozen in time. Even though it is frozen in time, why is it that we bring it with us into the present? Many of us do this and it becomes something we carry into every aspect of our lives. Work, self, relationships. It affects all that we do and we don’t even know it most of the time. We react and have extreme emotion. This creates a lot of pain and agony that we do not deserve. It makes us stressed, inflamed, sick, tired, overweight, underweight, pain. It is the invisible weight we carry on our shoulders that makes us hurt and does not serve us for today.
What I am getting at is, stay in the present. You are not what you were before. You are what you are now. Now is your focus. Ask yourself, “What can I do today that will make my life better right now?” Will it serve me better to think and struggle with what is frozen back there in time or focus on the things I can do at this moment that will move me forward?
My thought for the day.
